Leeds City Council Executive Board has agreed a proposal to support the provision of new affordable homes on The Glendale House site on Glen Road . The proposal, which will deliver affordable family homes for both rent and to buy, is part of a six site programme which could draw in around £20 million investment from both the public and private sector. Councillor Robert Finnigan, Morley's representative on the Executive Board said |

"The Morley Borough Independents have been campaigning hard over the last few months to make sure Morley was on the first list drawn up for new affordable family homes. I am pleased that Morley is one of only six sites across the Leeds City Council area to get this support." The Housing Corporation will be making a formal announcement on the housing provider early next month with a start date commencing shortly after that. Councillor Judith Elliott said "These are the first affordable homes for rent built in Morley for over a decade. They will be allocated to local residents in housing need. This is the start of a programme which will bring more affordable homes to local people over the next few years." |
