Victoria Road School Crossing


Councillor Robert Finnigan tries out the new crossing at Asquith Avenue Morley A long awaited Pedestrian Crossing has finally arrived at one of Morley's busiest road junctons.

The crossing on Asquith Avenue at the junction with Victoria Road, will allow local residents to cross the road in safety and will be a boon to those taking their children to Morley's Victoria Road School.

Councillor Robert Finnigan who campaigned, in behalf of local residents for the crossing said " It is really good news the crossing has been installed, it will help those taking kids to the nearby Victoria Road School, and those who are walking to the nearby Ingle Estate".

Ward colleague Councillor Tom Leadley welcomed the news of the crossing commenting " The crossing will help reduce the speed of traffic in the area be an obvious help to those travelling to Victoria Road School, as well as pupils walking to Morley Bruntcliffe School."

Morley Borough Independent Candidate in the forthcoming May elections, Councillor Bob Gettings also welcomed the news of the crossing saying " It is good news that the crossing has now been commissioned and is up and running.  I am sure it will help improve road safety on Asquith Avenue."
