Councillors Judith Elliott and Terry Grayshon have welcomed the new pedestrian crossing introduced outside Bruntcliffe High School which became operational last week. The crossing was introduced following a long campaign by both Councillors following concerns raised with them by local parents about student’s road safety. Cllr Terry Grayshon said “I am pleased the new pedestrian crossing is now operational. Bruntcliffe Lane is a busy road and we had significant concerns about the safety of High School students.” |
The crossing is part of a programme of works which will include the reduction of the speed limit along Bruntcliffe Lane to 30 miles per hour.
Cllr Judith Elliott said “We have worked with the school to explain to Highways Officers why this crossing was essential. I am delighted at the positive response we have received from both students and parents.”
