Morley – the daffodil capital of the North

Morley could become the daffodil capital of the North following a campaign being led by Councillor Judith Elliott, the Morley in Bloom Team and Groundwork Trust in Morley. The campaign will see over 20,000 daffodils planted across the Morley area in the run up to next Spring.

Councillor Elliott said “We are keen to see an explosion of colour across Morley when the bulbs flower in the Spring. We have invited groups from across the Morley area to help with this campaign and I am delighted at the interest that has been shown.”

Groups in Morley who have requested bulbs include Morley Elderly Action, 168 Squadron Air Cadets, youth groups, Morley churches and local primary schools.

Councillor Elliott added “We hope to be overwhelmed with yellow daffodils in the spring and we want the impact to be so significant that residents will declare Morley the daffodil capital of the North!”
