Morley Borough Independent Councillors are bowled over by improvements at Lewisham Park which means local youngsters now have an all weather cricket strip to use all year round. Cllr Terry Grayshon said "This is part of our ongoing improvement programme in parks across Morley. The park already has a multi use games area and this all weather cricket strip allows youngsters to play cricket whenever they choose, not just during the summer." Other work to the park includes better fencing and improved gating. |

Cllr Judith Elliott said "We are delighted at these improvements. The extra work being undertaken by the site based gardener, or park keeper as they use to be called, means we are seeing more local residents using the park. We will continue with our Parks Improvement Programme with future work to be undertaken at Dartmouth Park and Scatcherd Park Playground." |
