The Problem with the Play Areas on the Magpie Lane Estate: Morley Borough Independent Councillors Judith Elliott and Terry Grayshon have contacted the residents of virtually every house on the Magpie Lane Estate in Morley to consult with them re the Play Areas on the Estate which are a Magnet for Anti Social Behaviour. A good number of responses have been received from the Consultation and these are being looked at and discussions are taking place with the relevant organisation who can deal with the problem identified. Councillor Judith Elliott commented, "The feedback from the residents on Magpie Lane is invaluable in helping us deal with the situation. Local residents have contacted us to give their views which will be taken into account before any decisions are made regarding the Play Areas." Morley Borough Independent Councillors and volunteers hand delivered letters to homes on the Estate as part of the consultation process. The response has been unprecedented. Collating the information has been the task of Councillor Terry Grayshon, who said " The feedback has helped us progress matters in connection to the Play Areas and the Estate in general. A number of issues have been highlighted and we are in discussion with partner agencies about how best to deal with these. The feedback has been excellent and of great assistance in moving things forward. In the near future we shall be contacted those residents who got in touch to keep them informed of developments and ideas for the area."
