Rodds View problem solved

Councillor Terry Grayshon points out the problems caused by the Apple Throwers whilst Councillor Judith Elliott looks on. Following instances of Anti Social Behaviour in their street residents of Rodds View turned to Councillor Judith Elliott for help in dealing with an unusual, but serious problem.

Local youths had taken to throwing Apples which were growing on trees at the windows of houses and more dangerously at vehicles passing on Old Wide Lane.

Ward colleague Councillor Terry Grayshon commented, "For some people this kind of activity may be

seen as fun, however it is obviously a problem to residents and more worryingly could cause an accident.  Therefore we arranged for the removal of the Apple Trees to prevent any reoccurrence.  Local resident had been trying to resolve the issue fro some time, if they had contacted earlier we could have dealt with the  issue for them".

Councillor Judith Elliott said "This has been a bit of an unusual case, but the removal of the trees has been necessary to stop the ASB taking place.  I am pleased that Councillor Grayshon and myself have been able to help and only wish the local residents had contacted me earlier."

In the interests of the environment Councillors Elliott and Grayshon  have ordered two replacement flowering trees to be placed in the area where the trees were removed.
