Street Lane changing rooms discussion

The changing Rooms on Street Lane in Gildersome were discussed at a meeting between Gildersome Sports Groups, Ward Councillors and Leeds City Council Officers last Monday. The Meeting was held to explore the options to improve changing room facilities within the Gildersome area.

Councillor Robert Finnigan said "The changing rooms on Street Lane have been derelict for years and are presently boarded up. We have identified some money which could be used to improve sports facilities in the area and we are now talking to local sports club to see what they think."

The meeting explored options available including a plan to improve changing rooms facilities at Gildersome Cricket Club.

Councillor Bob Gettings, a Gildersome resident said "The sports clubs operating in Gildersome do an excellent job and give large numbers of children and young people opportunities to use their spare time constructively. This meeting was an open discussion among interested parties which  agreed a joint way forward."

Leeds City Council Officers attended and offered advice on other grants available to support financing the project.
